The Waterfront Education Sailing Club (WESC) gives sailors an affordable way to spend more time on the water, sharpen their skills, and connect with other sailors. Members enjoy unlimited day sailing on our Catalina 14.2 centerboard sailboats—agile, responsive boats that are quick to rig and ideal for building confidence and proficiency.

Whether you want to practice what you’ve learned, develop stronger boat-handling skills, or simply enjoy an afternoon sail, our club makes it easier to keep sailing.

These small, agile boats are quick and easy to rig and unrig, so you can spend less time preparing and more time sailing.

Time on the water is one of the best ways to improve.

Hone your boat-handling skills, reinforce what you’ve learned, and gain experience through regular sailing. You’ll also have opportunities to learn informally from other club members and share sailing knowledge.

Membership Requirements

Become a Charter Member

Annual dues for 2027: $200

Become a charter member now and sail free for the rest of 2026.

Our Sailing Club is designed to be affordable, accessible, and member supported.

Sailing Certification
Skippers must demonstrate sailing proficiency and complete a checkout on the club’s specific boats before sailing independently.

Age Requirement
Members must be 18 years of age or older.

Boat Maintenance
Members participate in maintaining the club’s boats. Member involvement is an important part of keeping club sailing affordable and includes routine boat and slip housekeeping, annual bottom cleaning and painting, and occasional repairs or special projects.
