Our classes utilize US Sailing’s REACH curriculum along with our locally developed lessons to teach a dockside STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) session before students sail in our local ocean waters and learn in nature's classroom. The physics of sailing is taught along with navigation, tides, currents, nautical knots and marine science. Classes utilize a group learning environment to encourage teamwork and collaboration.

Topics covered include the following:
Measuring wind/points of sail (hurricanes included), wave physics, sail area and perimeter, mechanical advantage, meteorology, marine debris,  all about advanced knots, shark facts, marine mammals and the food web, racing/keel physics, plankton biology, coastal biology.

Thursdays: 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM
1 hour on the water, 1.5 hours on land
Ages 8+
Cost: $215 for 4 classes / $55 drop-in (please contact for drop-in availability)

Spring 2019 Session Three - April 4th - May 2nd (no class April 18th for Spring Break)

Enrollment: minimum of 4 students / maximum 12 students
Note: If you will be using a school voucher for class payment you can still register your child using our system.
What to bring/wear: Dress in layers, light jacket, hat, sunscreen, water, and snacks.
