This class explores different topics each week as students explore the world around them. Weekly hands-on STEM* challenges include directed experiments focused in chemistry, physics, geometry, and marine sciences. Our challenges align themselves with NGSS** and Ocean Literacy Principles. Students learn with hands on activities and encouragement from our leaders to support their creative ideas. A combination of demonstrations, take-home projects, independent exploration and unique experiments exposes students to a variety of basic scientific concepts. This class can sometimes get messy, but we do our best to keep it under control while encouraging scientific thinking and exploration.
